Flight instruction is free to any club member that may need some assistance learning to fly radio controlled airplanes. KRCA has electric and nitro trainer aircraft that, when used with a buddy box system, can get a beginner flying safely and soloed in a fairly short time. We can buddy box most popular RC systems that a student may be using in a plane they already have.
KRCA also participates in the Horizon Hobby Flight School program. By purchasing a qualifying Horizon Hobby trainer and a trial AMA membership, you are eligible for a personal flight training session on your aircraft at our fields.
Between our instructors we have a vast knowledge and background of the types of power being used with RC aircraft today. Glow Fuel, Gasoline (gasser) and Electric powered are to most common. However we currently cannot support “Gas Turbines” which are used in the larger RC jets.
